The project
We were sub-contracted by Clark Contracts, working with Registers of Scotland, to supply, install and commission close-control air conditioning equipment for their data centre.
Service provision
- Plumbing
- Insulation
- Ventilation
- CCU Air Conditioning
Our expertise
As a specialist building services and air conditioning contractor, our in-house engineers completed the works.
The challenges
It was essential that the data centre remain live at all times throughout works – so our experience of working in critical environments was key for this project.
To install the equipment, we had to strip down the new close-control units and carefully position and rebuild them while the facility remained operational. The large size of the units and number of small parts they had to be broken down into made this particularly challenging. To make sure services were not interrupted, we phased works to gradually introduce new units and decommission existing units. This was done within a tight programme duration of six weeks.
Future work
Following the success of this project, we have worked with Clark Contracts again on an office refurbishment for Whyte and Mackay.
